Project Synopsis
There are millions of single people throughout the UK. If you're one of them - and you're looking for love - then welcome to "Three Minute Moments" the film that gives you more than just an insight into speed dating - it gives you hope.
I decided to make a film about speed dating because the subject matter was just so rich and diverse - plus it's a huge phenomenon and this is the very first film about it.
Initially, I discovered a play about speed dating and from this I commissioned a writer to complete a screenplay. This became "Three Minute Moments" and the search for more than 50-actors to appear in the film began – along with the search for crew and locations!
The audition process was great fun (for us, not too sure about how much fun it was for the actors) and we completed the first round of auditions in the style of a speed date.
Filming was hectic - we had to organise more than 100-cast and crew and we only had a short period of time to complete all filming. However, the cast and crew were incredibly professional and we made it. (I kept a small journal throughout filming which contains ALL my thoughts and feelings – no one has read it, but one-day maybe...)
The post-production period proved to be my real solace - working alongside the editor, the sound designer and the composer was a true pleasure. The pressure seemed to lift and we had that valuable commodity - time!
For a first independent feature film it was undeniably a big, daunting, project - but it's now finished. I think it looks fantastic and I hope you enjoy it.
Yours sincerely,

Director, Three Minute Moments
